Welcome
The Children First Team is dedicated to the education of all of Newark's children. We are all educators, actively involved with Newark youth and their parents, grandparents and other caretakers. We have over 50 years combined experience in education, ranging from pre-school to high school. Serving on the board is a natural extension of the commitment we have already made to the children of Newark as well as their families. We are not afraid to tackle the hard issues, and we are committed to act in your interest.
To that end, we will work to:
Provide a safe, engaging learning environment that encourages creativity and student achievement.
Increase graduation rates and academic success.
Prepare students for college and 21st century careers.
Ensure that more resources reach the students.
Create a more welcoming environment to increase parental involvement.
